دختری به اسم شین یوک بوک برای اینکه نقاشی یاد بگیره خودشو به شکل پسرها در میاره. در این میان با ورود استاد تان ون داستان شکل دیگری میگیره. ماجراهای مختلف باعث ایجاد نوعی پیوند قلبی بین اونا میشه. تان ون در موقعیت های مختلف به شین یوک بوک کمک میکنه. داستان در ادامه به ماجراهای ده سال قبل اشاره میکنه که به مرگ پدر شین یوک بوک منجر شده. پادشاه با دیدن هنر فراوان این دو اونها رو مامور میکنه که از زندگی مردم با نقاشیهاشون با خبرشون کنه و در ادامه ازشون میخواد که در مورد راز پرتره سلطنتی پدرش تحقیق کنند. پدر کشته شده شین یوک بوک دوست صمیمی تان ون نیز بوده و در اواخر داستانه که اون متوجه میشه کسی که داره بهش کمک میکنه دختر صمیمی ترین دوستشه که ده سال پیش کشته شده.

Based on the bestselling historical fiction novel by Lee Jung-myung that took artistic license with the premise that perhaps the Joseon painter Shin Yun-bok had really been a woman, it centers on Yun-bok, a talented young painter who disguises herself as a boy to search for her father’s murderer. She meets Kim Hong-do, a master painter who guides her into becoming a great artist, and they develop a strong friendship of mentor and disciple.The Painter of the Wind In 1766, Kang Su-hang, a painter and senior memberofDohwaseo, the Academy of Painting, was found killed after being secretly commissioned by the son of the crown prince who would later become King Jeongjo (1752-1800, the 22nd King of the Joseon Dynasty). The commission was to paint a portrait of the crown prince. Seo Jing, another member of Dohwaseo, was found dead while investigating the death of Kang Su-hang. In.Shin Yoon Bok is a talented painter who disguises herself as a boy to search for her father’s murderer and meets a master painter who guides her into being a great painter.
